I'm a middle class American, but I shop at thrift stores, because I have learned to be wise, not proud.
Life Leson #19: sometimes you can't live in your "starter" home for 35 years because your neighborhood, like mine, is no longer safe.
I lost my mother at age 10 and my father at age 30. If you still have your aging parents please show them love, kindness and respect.
Card I sent to my daughter for Valentines Day - I love you, miss you, and would have sent money, but you now make more money than me. Love Dad
My Mother's best advice: always be well educated. That is something no man can ever take away from you. Smart lady!
To really appreciate being retired, I watch the morning traffic reports while having my coffee.
Kids don't spell anymore, they text in codes.
Inside every senior woman is an 18 year old trying to get out!
Keep up the routine car maintenance, drive it until the wheels come off, then replace the wheels! Enough said.
Life at home is so much better, when you remember Valentines Day.
I have a rescue dog. Everytime I leave she lays at the back door as I close it. No matter how long I'm gone, that's exactly where she is when I return. A rescue knows you saved their life and appreciate it.
I too am a boomer, and I agree we had the best music. It has staying power, it's started and sustained many a radio station. And my cellphone stays in the car.
You are so right! I will be 46 next week, and I can not remember all of the things my parents purchased for me. But I have the greatest memories of the time they spent with me. I sure do miss mommy and daddy.
I have just had my second eye cataract surgery. I see the light!
I don't think I would want a new car, even if I could afford one. My 13 year old car is like a beloved family member, and she even has a name.
Spring training is near. Makes me feel great.
A man who prays is a strong man.
The power of God, in us, is limitless, if your faith is strong enough.
Thanks unvent family for the opportunity to pray with/for you, celebrate with you, and grow with you due to the wisdom you share. You are touching the lives of many.
You can either operate in the positive and pray for others, or you can operate in the negative and try to drag others down. Your choice.
I wonder what the person who considers people asking for prayer from others as bringing them down, does, when he's down and out.
If you included the 80's with your music tastes I would have given you an 'up' vote. The '80s 'new wave' bands along with Michael Jackson and so many others can't be dismissed.
If you want to read something amazing, Google: "Paul Harvey, if I were the devil". It was written amost 50 yrs ago, and is more timely now, than ever.
My wife said that during our wedding vows she promised, " for better or worse" but not for lunch.
Is everything on this Unvent a true experience or just words.
It helps to go to a positive, super active, upbeat church for worship. I love Stone Creek.
Everything you said about church is true, except you need to go on Sabbath, not sunday. That's what God asked you to do.
If the Libertarian Party would reverse two ideas, I would vote for them - 1. freedom to take pot or drugs. 2. smaller military.
Please pray me out of jury duty next Monday. I'm on standby so hopefully will not have to go, but they send me a jury duty summons every time I turn around. What is it about me that they love so much? I never even get called to serve, just sit there all day. Please pray me out of it!
