Paying farmers not to farm, giving money to private businesses that are filing Chapter 11, catering to illegals. Don't tell me we can't cut spending. I beg to differ.
The problems with SS are caused by ther politicians robbing the funds for their pork projects.
if my Medicare and Social Security becomes means tested based, will means testing apply to politician's pensions, too?
The talk of gun control is IRRELEVANT. The issue is the state of mental health in this country. We as Americans only like to scratch the surface and only address the symptoms. Let's address the root cause so the violence can decrease.
Instead of using the hotel/motel tax to help fund a new stadium that enriches one corporation why not use it to fund mental health programs that are consisrtenly being cut. Recent events certainly point to the need!
The school shooting was a tragedy, but it had nothing to do with guns. Imagine the result if he had gone into the school armed with a dozen pipe bombs. Focus on stopping the fools, not the tools.
i don't care what the shooter was wearing. I don't care where he lived. I don't care what weapons he had and what were his intentions. I don't even want to know his name. Let's concentrate on the poor innocent children and their names and lives.
If the second amendment only applies to muskets, then the first amendment doesn't apply to telephones, radio, text messages, television, or the internet.
Many older people did indeed pay for their SS & Medicare. Not only did they have to pay involuntarily into these rip-off programs, they had to forego any interest and investment income they could have earned and used for private coverage. Not only that, SS recipients cannot refuse Medicare as prime insurer.
If I had been allowed to invest my Social Security money and not give it to the government Ponzi scheme, I'd be getting more than what I put in and my relatives could get what I don't use.
The Governor uses private charter planes for State business and saves the State $100M. Now, don't buy a stadium we don't need and we're up $400M!
Everyone wants to treat the symptom and not the disease. Guns don't kill people. People kill people. If you outlaw the guns, people who want to kill will still find a way.
Over 10,000 deaths this year in US because of DWI's don't see no one wanting to get rid of a cold beer?
Peoplle who litter in their own neighborhoods don't have respect for where they live.
Stronger gun control is going to have the same success as our war on drugs. Some beast wants a gun it will get one.We need to go back to values we had 50 years ago
When young children are slaughtered en masse, it is a moment of reckoning for any society. To dismiss this as the act of a madman is unacceptable when it forms part of a pattern, part of a culture. The question to ask is not whether stricter laws would have prevented this but whether current laws and attitudes enabled it.
If Obama understands the math - why does he propose taking 10 years to cut $880 billion while spending debt at more than $1 trillion per year?
I must have ADD because I can't and will not stare at my phone more than a few minutes unlike everyone else who stares at their phone most of the day.
Probation is the next best thing that has happened to Dekalb Co. schools-now the Gov. can do the best thing- replace the entire school board immediately!
The worst thing about those Internet video ads is that they can't be paused or fast forwarded. You have no choice but to sit through them.
I agree that this state needs a major anti-litter campaign. Why isn't the tourism industry pressing for this? Driving all roads is a major embarrassment!
Tell the Liberals, we are a divided nation because people make their own choices. It is not racism nor is it inequality; it is a person's decision to be what they want.
I laugh out loud whenever I hear any politician state "the math doesn't work."
HOV stands for High Occupancy Vehicle, not High Occupancy and Velocity.
If you consider the current battle of egos in Washington (which side will blink first in the "fiscal cliff" posturing) as a parallel to the "Judgement of Solomon", will the side which finally capitulates perhaps actually be the side which cares more about the American people and the future of America?
Your employer also pays into Medicare and SS, that is who pays for that.
