Nashville and Memphis have a wealth of hotel options, most of which are large chains. It’s worth noting that Memphis was the site of the first Holiday Inn, founded by local entrepreneur Kemmons Wilson. Today Memphis has a large corporate presence for the worldwide chain.

HotelChatter.com is a daily webzine offering smart coverage and critiques of hotels worldwide. Go to TripAdvisor.com or HotelShark.com for helpful independent consumer reviews of hotels and resort properties.
