Hilton Head Shopping

Hilton Head is browsing heaven, with more than 30 shopping centers spread around the island. Chief shopping sites include Pineland Station (Matthews Dr. and U.S. 278), with more than 30 shops and half a dozen restaurants; and Coligny Plaza (Coligny Circle), with more than 60 shops, food stands, and several good restaurants. We’ve found some of the best bargains in the South at Tanger Outlet Stores I and II (tel. 843/837-4339), on Highway 278 at the gateway to Hilton Head. The outlet has more than 45 factory stores, including Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, and J. Crew. The hours of most shops are Monday to Saturday 10am to 9pm and Sunday 11am to 6pm.
