10:48 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2008

Residing 1,054 miles from Athens will be a real bummer this weekend for Georgia commit Arthur Fontaine of Dartmouth High in North Dartmouth, Mass.’s fifth-best tight end in the nation by will relegated to viewing Saturday night’s SEC showdown between the Dogs and Alabama on ESPN from his home. “I can’t go this weekend,” Fontaine wrote to the AJC in a text message. “But we’ve got a long weekend for the Tennessee game [on Oct. 11]. “I’m going to the Tennessee game.” Despite the temptation of taking in a game and touring campuses closer to home, the 6-foot-5, 235-pound Fontaine said he’s remained loyal to the Dogs. “I haven’t visited any other schools,” he said. “I’m committed to Georgia.” Another prized-recruit, quarterback Aaron Murray of Tampa, Fla. confirmed to the AJC Monday evening that he will attend Saturday evening’s contest in Sanford Stadium. It will be the first trip to Athens this season for Murray, a member of the AJC’s The Super Southern 100.
