UGA-bound QB Aaron Murray bringing special guest to Athens

4:25 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008

Tampa, Fla., quarterback Aaron Murray, who committed to Georgia, isn’t wasting any time making it to Athens. After Plant High plays tonight, Murray is going to change clothes and begin his seven-hour journey. He will spend the night near the Georgia border, and plans to be at the Bulldogs’ football offices around 11 a.m, about nine hours before kickoff. “This is my first trip for a game, and I want to make the most of every minute of it,” Murray said. Murray is bringing a special guest — Orson Charles, his Plant teammate who is ranked as the nation’s No. 2 tight end by Rivals. Charles favors Miami, but also is considering Georgia, Florida, and Florida State. Rarely a day goes by without Murray trying to recruit Charles for the Bulldogs. “I’m always mentioning Georgia, but he knows in the end it’s his decision to make, and no one else.”
