Kentucky's tribute to its native son, Abraham Lincoln
Lincoln's symbolic Birth Cabin was cut down from the traditional 16x18 feet to 12x17 to fit into the memorial. Organizers originally thought this was the Lincolns' 1808 cabin, but in 2004 a scientist used dendrochronology to prove that the logs were no older than 1848. Betsa Marsh / Travel Arts Syndicate
