Carter's football career
Carter originally committed to play football at Georgia Tech, but chose to play professional baseball after he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs. Two years later, he would sign on to play football at Georgia and amass 6,447 passing yards, 606 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns over a three-year career in Athens. T. Levette Bagwell / AJC
