Georgia's Sugar Bowl history since 1969
Georgia played in only one Sugar Bowl during the 1970s, falling in the 1977 game to top-ranked Pitt 27-3. But the Dogs were No. 1 themselves when they next played in New Orleans. In the 1981 game, Herschel Walker (34) goes up and over the Notre Dame "D" for the Dogs' first TD. Associated Press
