June 26, 1999: Atlanta acquires No. 1 overall pick in draft from Vancouver and selects Patrik Stefan. Stefan plays six seasons for the Atlanta Thrashers, scoring 177 points. In 2006, Stefan is traded to the Dallas Stars. Associated Press
