History of the NHL's Thrashers in Atlanta
July 14, 1999: Curt Fraser becomes the first head coach of the Atlanta Thrashers. He coaches the team for 3-1/2 years - compiling a 64-169-46 record. He is fired in 2003. Don Waddell takes over head coaching duties. AJC File
