History of the NHL's Thrashers in Atlanta
June 20, 2008: John Anderson is named the fourth head coach of the Thrashers. The former minor league coach ends his first season with a 34-40-8 record, 14th in Eastern Conference. He was released the following season after missing the playoffs. Curtis Compton, ccompton@ajc.com
