2012 AJC Peachtree Road Race: Hitting the street

... and they're off: The elite runners hit the pavement at the start of the men's race. Peter Kirui led a Kenyan sweep in the men's race with an unofficial time of 27 minutes, 36 seconds. This was his first Peachtree victory. It tied for the fourth-fastest time in race history. Micah Kogo finished second and Shadrack Kosgei finished third. Jason Getz / jgetz@ajc.com
