Paul Pierce preceded Woods in the grittty performance department by a few days. The Boston Celtics star had to be carried off the court after twisting his knee in the third quarter of Game 1 of the NBA Finals. He returned in the fourth quarter to score 11 points vs. the Lakers, and has been the series MVP to date. AP photos
