Doug Flutie: The undersized QB not only made Boston College football relevant, but he did so with a penchant for dramatic comebacks. The Hail Mary pass he threw to beat Miami, along with his rallying BC from a 31-14 deficit to win at Alabama, were the stuff of legend. His renown created a phenomenon known to this day as "the Flutie effect", whereby a school's winning sports team boosts admissions applications.
