Herschel Walker: As a true freshman Walker catapulted a previously pedestrian Georgia team into the 1980 national champions. He broke Tony Dorsett's NCAA freshman rushing record with 1,616 yards and finished third in the Heisman voting, unheard of for a first-year player. In three seasons at UGA, Walker was a three-time All-American and led the Bulldogs to a 33-3 record. He won the 1982 Heisman Trophy. UGA Athletic Association
