The Falcons have asked permission to talk to Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, 31, one of the biggest names bandied about for NFL head coaching jobs. The former backup QB to Troy Aikman on two Super Bowl-winning teams reportedly is being pursued by Bill Parcells in Miami, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones may also be working to retain him as the successor to current head coach Wade Phillips.
