Smoltz's career highlights
After returning to the starting rotation in 2005, Smoltz's success continued. On April 10, 2005, Smoltz struck out 15 batters in less than 8 innings before departing to a standing ovation at Turner Field. The 15 Ks tied his career high for strikeouts in a single game. Alas, Smoltz took a loss as the Braves could muster only one run against New York's Pedro Martinez. AJC file
