Around the bases with former Braves

In one of the off-season's most surprising moves, the Braves sent shortstop Edgar Renteria (.326 in 94 games) to Detroit in exchange for two prospects. Renteria was reunited with his former World Series manager Jim Leyland (Florida Marlins) and joined one of baseball's most potent lineups. Renteria has been moved from seventh in the order to lead-off (against righties) where he has hit .282 in 57 career starts -- none with the Braves. Associated Press
