The Cardinals have expressed an interest in trading former-pitcher-turned-slugger Rick Ankiel. The 29-year-old bats and throws left-handed. He hit .264 with 25 home runs and 71 RBIs for St. Louis in 2008. Ankiel can play right or center field. AP
