1987 -- The Braves send Doyle Alexander to Detroit for pitcher John Smoltz. Alexander went 20-29 over the next two seasons for Detroit, then retired. Smoltz pitched in Atlanta for more than two decades and won the Cy Young in 1996. (AJC File)
