Help with weathering an economic storm
Bird-Family Insulation owner Bob Bird tests the blower door before using it at the front door of the home of Philip and Deborah Pennyman in Lithonia. The blower door measures the air leakage of a home. The Pennymans got their home worked on through Partnership for Community Action, a Clarkston-based community action agency. The federal government is giving cash to such agencies to insulate, caulk, and update applicances in homes of low-income residents. JASON GETZ / jgetz@ajc.com
