DROUGHT WOES--Donald Chase picks corn on one of his farms August 17, 2012. All of Chase's corn is irrigated, which comes at a great cost. Some of Chase's cuts have yielded 280 bushels per acre. "We learned how to grow corn without rain last year" Chase said, referring to last season's drought. BRANT SANDERLIN / BSANDERLIN@AJC.COM
