DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH--Streaks of tail lights and headlights from passing cars are caught on this time exposure where motorists got a taste of a new traffic pattern Monday morning, June 4, 2012 after the Georgia Department of Transportation officials surprised Sunday afternoon drivers by opening the new diverging diamond interchange 12 hours ahead of schedule. The $5.5 million project is a joint effort of the Georgia DOT, DeKalb County and the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts. JOHN SPINK / JSPINK@AJC.COM
