TRAFFIC FATALITY--The eastbound lanes of I-285 in DeKalb County were shut down during the early stages of the Monday, Apr. 16, 2012 morning commute because of a deadly pedestrian accident. The state Department of Transportation confirmed there was a fatality in the 4:30 a.m. incident, which occurred between Ashford Dunwoody and Chamblee Dunwoody roads. Officials are working to lessen traffic tieups for interstate wrecks, balancing investigation against the need to keep traffic flowing. John Spink jspink@ajc.com
