Lost and found under Lake Lanier

Tires poke out of the cracked muck that was once Lake Lanier near a bridge on Highway 369. The drought is starting to expose many secrets about the lake, including the trash and other items that residents and visitors dump in the vast water source. Whole forests, roads, bridges -- even a race track -- were inundated by the lake when it filled in the 1950s. Pouya Dianat / AJC
