Educational canoe trip on Etowah River
The US Fish and Wildlife sponsored an educational canoe trip on the Etowah River for local officials to highlight policies of the Etowah Aquatic Conservation plan, which is out for public comment through August 31. The Habitat Conservation Plan has been in development since 2002, and tries to balance protecting endangered species, such as the Etowah Darter, found only in the Etowah River, with economic development and growth Bob Andres, bandres@ajc.com
