Pickrick restaurant in civil rights history
881 Hemphill Avenue on the Georgia Tech campus is the site of the former Pickrick restaurant. Former Georgia Gov. Lester Maddox ran the segregated restaurant. He closed it in 1965 after being told he would have to serve blacks. Allen Sullivan / aesullivan@ajc.com
