Falcons make a home in Atlanta
A peregrine falcon enjoys a meal after a successful hunt at the top of the SunTrust Plaza in Atlanta on March 24, 2010. Peregrines are powerful raptors in flight, achieving speeds of 200 mph in astonishing vertical dives known as "stoops" with wings glued to the body. They are keen hunters with acute vision, feeding primarily on small birds and mammals, water foul, and even bats. They seem to prefer the challenge of a moving target.
