Falcons make a home in Atlanta
A peregrine falcon takes off from the top of the Suntrust Plaza near dusk, where 1 of 2 known nesting sites in Georgia is located in February 2010. The birds can be seen flying around Peachtree Street gathering food for their hatchlings. Several hundred peregrines have been released across the eastern U.S. since 1972, including northeastern Georgia and from the Georgia Power Building in downtown Atlanta.
