College-bound students get support
Math Intern teacher Nick Brooks watches student Matt Jones during the Breakthrough Atlanta program at the Lovett School on Thursday, July 18. The students are part of Breakthrough Atlanta, a free program targeting at-risk students. About half come from low-income homes and most will be the first in their families to go to college. These students make a six-year commitment and over the years will get help on everything from SAT prep to writing college applications to study-abroad programs. Johnny Crawford/jcrawford@ajc.com
