Whale shark gatherings
Mississippi-based shark scientist Eric Hoffmayer prepares a satellite tag, a sophisticated device that can track whale sharks. One tag recently attached by Hoffmayer indicated one shark traveled more than 260 miles south of where it was tagged and dove to depths of more than a mile. Gulf Coast Research Laboratory
