It's probably no surprise that oysters made the riskiest foods list. Normally eaten raw, they have accounted for over 2,000 illnesses since 1990. Contamination usually occurs due to improper handling. Norovirus can cause gastroenteritis. Vibrio is more dangerous and can lead to septicemia, which has an approximately 50 percent fatality rate.
