Common causes of cancer

SMOKING TOBACCO: According to The International Union Against Cancer (UICC), smoking tobacco is "directly linked to the development of lung cancer and is responsible for 90% of lung cancer cases." The American Cancer Society states, "Tobacco use accounts for at least 30% of all cancer deaths in the United States." If you can eliminate only one bad habit in your life, quitting smoking would be a good choice. W.A. BRIDGES JR./AJC Special
