Home Depot turns 30
This Home Depot on Memorial Drive opened June 22, 1979. It was one of the first two stores opened in Atlanta by Bernie Marcus and Arthur, who were fired from hardware chain Handy Dan. There are now more than 1,970 Home Depots in the United States Courtesy Home Depot
