Equitable Building on auction block
Before the Equitable Building was built, Peachtree Street was paved with bricks. In this early 1900s photo, the Georgia Savings Bank Building and Piedmont Hotel, built in 1903, can be seen. The Piedmont Hotel was replaced by the Equitable Building. AJC FILE PHOTO
