Maharishi Mahesh Yogi founded and developed the Transcendental Meditation technique and related programs and initiatives with schools all over the world. Yogi's first global tour began in 1958 and became known in the Western world in part due to interactions with The Beatles and other celebrities. He died on Feb. 5. AJC file
