Michael Crichton was an American author, producer and director. In 1994, he became the only person ever to experience chart-topping success with a film, a television series and a novel, all at No. 1 at once. He created the TV series "ER," and was most famous as the author of "Jurassic Park," and its sequel "The Lost World," both of which were successful movie franchises. Crichton, who died on Nov. 4 at 66, also wrote "The Andromeda Strain," "Disclosure," and "Rising Sun." Associated Press
