Ryan Barnett, 39, of Duluth is training for his first Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race on July 4, 2009. He will compete against 79 other athletes in the wheelchair division. To qualify, an athlete must be able to go the course in less than 45 minutes. The men’s wheelchair record holder did it in 18 minutes and 38 seconds.

"Nobody knows where this thing is, " Angel Poventud, said of the Beltline path he has personally walked over five times scouting locations for the signs. "Our goal is to increase awareness about the beltline, beautify the city and bring people together to collaborate in doing this." Appleton said.
